As part of the FY25 ACR, the PRC issued a Chairman’s Information Request (CHIR) to the Postal Service, requiring them to provide updated information on the rollout plans of RPDCs and LPCs.
Within the response, USPS identified that they are now planning for 56 Regional Processing and Delivery Centers (RPDC), down from the original DFA plan of 60. Of the 56 RPDC, fourteen have been activated, and five of those were just launched as recently as January 26, 2026. The remaining RPDCs’ activation dates are listed as TBD.
Below are the sites activated:
| RPDC Region | Activation Date |
| Richmond, VA | 7/9/2023 |
| Boise, ID | 7/1/2023 |
| Atlanta, GA, Portland, OR | 2/24/2024 |
| Houston, TX | 8/24/2024 |
| Chicago, IL | 10/16/2024 |
| Indianapolis, IN | 1/18/2025 |
| Charlotte, NC | 2/24/2025 |
| Jacksonville, FL | 6/14/2025 |
| Birmingham, AL, Greensboro, NC, Jersey City, NJ, Memphis, TN, Saint Louis, MO | 1/26/2026 |
The list of Local Processing Centers (LPCs) now totals 199, with 25 of those being co-located in RPDCs. The spreadsheet lists the 3D groupings for each of the RPDC and LPC regions. Many of the LPCs are currently aligned with the SCF L005 label lists, but not all. This report gives you an advanced view of which zip codes will be moved over the next few years.

The website Save the Post Office provides the following interactive map.

The newest listing of sites and 3-digit zip groupings is the source of data here.

You can scroll or click on any of the RPDC regions listed at the top, and it will show you on the map where that region is. For example, the image below shows the Denver, CO RPDC region.

You can also click anywhere on the map and see the name of the LPC and RPDC that will service that 3D.

All Sorting and Delivery Centers (S&DCs) are not listed in this document, but it does show that currently there are planned to be six S&DCs co-located in RPDCs and nineteen co-located in LPCs.
As of today, there are 151 S&DCs. The most recent update is to the Pompano Beach, FL S&DC site; it received an additional three 5D zip codes on February 7, 2026. The 151 S&DCs now house about 15,500 routes, but two-thirds of them were already there before the facility was converted to a S&DC
On February 5, 2026, the USPS OIG published a new audit, “Route Scheduling at Sorting and Delivery Centers”. Within the audit report the OIG said that the Postal Service expects to open an additional 251 S&DCs nationwide by 2030. That would bring the total to 400, which is the same number USPS has been quoting since 2023. The visual below shows the current S&DC hubs and spokes.

The information provided to the PRC also provides updates on the number of, and location of sites expected to have cancellation services. Of the 108 planned sites, 31 will be stand-alone RPDCs, 52 in stand-alone LPCs and 25 will be co-located RPDC/ LPC sites.
