Sharon Owens, the VP of Pricing and Costing, is retiring at the end of April, this was her last MTAC. The MTAC leadership and ex officious presented Sharon with the MTAC award, expressing the below sentiments.
“It has been over six years since the MTAC Award was last presented, making today’s recognition long overdue. We are compelled to break that hiatus to honor someone truly exceptional.
In this business, the best partners aren’t those who always say ‘yes’, they are the ones who tell you the truth. That is exactly who Sharon has been throughout her distinguished Postal Service career. Whether delivering news we wanted to hear or the hard truths we needed to hear, she did so with a transparency and respect that allowed us to pivot and improve.
In a shifting industry, Sharon has been our ‘fair but firm’ North Star. She championed this mission because she believed in it, and she championed us because she cares about people.
Sharon, we will miss your wit, your directness, and your presence. On behalf of the MTAC leadership and our ex-officios, it is an honor to present you with this award. Please accept this compass—a symbol of your role in helping us navigate complex waters as you begin your next journey.”
Randy Workman, from the Operations Integration and Performance Excellence team announced his retirement date of May 1st. Randy and Sharon were both presented with aluminum water bottles engraved with a message from MTAC to celebrate their retirement.
Both will be missed by industry.
