PMG Steiner took official office on July 15th, and addressed the MTAC members at their Tuesday meeting on July 22nd. As this was just one week into his role Mr. Steiner didn’t provide his vision, or plans for the Postal Service but used the opportunity to ease some concerns about any conflicts resulting from his FedEX board tenure, and whispers of privatization. He assured the group that he now bleeds blue with USPS, and believes the postal service is integral in binding the Nation together, and he has zero interest in privatization. Mr. Steiner shared stories of his history with Waste Management and his philosophies of employee engagement and being in the field.
He was very busy last week making appearances at several events from MTAC, the Smithsonian Postal Museum reception, the 250 Anniversary Stamp unveiling, and both the WILDS and PSA association receptions.
