Q4 Mtac Update: Important Changes Ahead!

Last week, the October Quarterly MTAC meetings took place, marking a significant transition for future sessions. This was the last opportunity for open attendance during the Tuesday sessions. Starting in January, these sessions will be limited to MTAC Association Representatives, similar to the Wednesday sessions. This change aims to foster more open, technical discussions and enhance the exchange of information between the USPS and the mailing industry, reverting to the format of meetings prior to the pandemic.

During the October meetings, attendees had the privilege of hearing from PMG Louis DeJoy and participating in presentations covering various crucial topics. Highlights included insights into the State of the Paper Industry, the equipment and process design of new facilities, updates on Project Safe Delivery, and proposed changes to the Service Standards.

The Wednesday sessions are structured around three focus areas:

  1. Entry, Payment, and Product
  2. Data, Technology, and Addressing
  3. Service Precision

Industry association representatives are encouraged to report back on these discussions to their respective associations. If you want to join one of those associations, become an MTAC Representative, or maybe just participate in an active MTAC User Group or Workgroup, you can find information on: https://postalpro.usps.com/mtac.

For example, GrayHair’s own Adam Collinson is actively engaged in this process. He will report back to the association he represents (AMEE), participates in multiple MTAC groups, and serves as the industry-elected focus area leader for Data, Technology, and Addressing.

Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to engage in these vital discussions!
