The USPS announced that it is seeing service delivery performance improvements for First-Class Mail (showing a 9.5% improvement). On average, mailers can expect a first-class mailpiece to be delivered in 2.4 days. Improvements were also recorded in Marketing Mail and Periodicals. This progress showcases some initial directional success of the Delivering for America plan, which at its core is focused on these service level improvements. As part of the announcement, the USPS also addressed continued issues with staffing, specifically on employee absenteeism which has been ongoing since the beginning of the COVID pandemic.
