The USPS® announced two key dates related to EPS (Enterprise Payment System), its new payment processing platform.
Effective September 1, 2018, all new payment accounts must be established through EPS. Also, CAPS (Centralized Accounting Processing System) will be retired effective April 1, 2019 for users that can transition all accounts that are supported by the new EPS system. Those that can’t transition all accounts, will be allowed to continue to use CAPS for a period of time. The USPS is encouraging customers to migrate before this date.
Eligible products include First-Class Mail®, letters, cards, and flats, Priority Mail®, First-Class™ package service, and USPS Marketing Mail™. For a full list of eligible products visit https://postalpro.usps.com/eps.
Customers using products that are not eligible, such as Parcel Return Service and Scan Based Payment, will continue to be supported through CAPS.
There will be a series of weekly informational sessions on EPS and the migration process hosted by Mail Entry and Business Mailer Support. Visit the PostalPro website for links to meetings being held every Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET to assist with the migration.
To sign up for EPS, contact your local BMEU or sign up through the PostalOne! Help Desk at (800) 522-9085 or email Postalone@usps.gov.
