The Postal Service™ announced that is issuing a commemorative Forever stamp honoring President George H. W. Bush, who died in November. The stamp will feature a painted portrait that is based on a 1997 photo of the late President.
The first day of issue ceremony (which is the day the stamp will be released) will be on June 12, the President’s birthday. The chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors, Robert M. Duncan, will be the dedicating official.
