In our August newsletter, we announced that the USPS was resuming billing ACS™ customers for ACS-related notifications and forwarding services. However, according to a September 28 USPS Industry Alert, some ACS record charges for the July 25 to August 24 period were flagged as “Unassociated,” meaning the USPS could not find any electronic documentation (eDoc) for those pieces, which is a requirement to get ACS records for free. Due to concerns related to these charges, the Postal Service™ has decided to exclude all records that were flagged as Unassociated when recasting the March through August invoices. This will enable the Postal Service and the mailing industry to review these records before any decision is made about the assessment of these charges.

If you’re an ACS customer, see the Industry Alert for more details. If you’ve already paid invoices, Unassociated records for the March 25 to August 24 period will be removed and your account will be adjusted.

Also, ACS customers will receive an email that tells them the March 25 to August 24 monthly invoice amounts that are payable.

If you’re an ACS customer and you have questions or concerns about your invoice charges, you can contact that ACS Support department and ask for a review. Contact them at 877-640-0724 (Option 1) or by email at acs@usps.gov.
